About

THE LONG VERSION:
 {proof that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. little weeds are one of Cate's favorite subjects!}

You'd think that a photographer's first paid session would be a family of four or a couple about to say "I do". Cate however, has an affinity for taking the road less traveled; her first session as a professional photographer was the funeral of a beloved baby boy...and as you can imagine was a difficult event to document. It deeply moved her and inspired her to capture real life moments in a way that would bring joy to her clients. One relative wrote this in response to seeing the pictures:

 Cate, I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for the amazing job you did. We all cried at the photos you took and {we} were so pleased with your work. You captured so many great moments beautifully.

From that point on, Cate wanted nothing more than to work full time as a photographer and give her customers the wonderful and amazing gift of remembrance. She has now photographed dozens and dozens of families, children, couples and weddings and could not possibly love her job more. She has been featured on several prominent photography websites, blogs, and was published in the April 2010 edition of the immensely popular craft magazine, "Somerset Life". You might have seen her at a few bridal shows, craft fairs, and even in her online shop (featuring fine art prints)! Wherever she is though, she's bound to have her camera in tow. (Either that or a Jane Austen novel, package of oreos, or an armful of freshly cut flowers. Ranunculus or peonies tend to be the selection of choice. Just in case you were wondering.)
